The forecast is beautiful for our Labor Day weekend in Iowa and I am going to take advantage of the weather and grill out.  Special thanks to Matt for making these delicious burgers for my family!  For a gluten-intolerant who gets bored with plain bun-less burgers, these festive veggie burgers are a tasty, flavorfull change of pace!

Not-Your-Average-Veggie-Burger

  • 1 pound of ground chuck (free-range if possible)
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • salt and pepper to taste
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, green pepper, onion, tomato, salt and pepper.  Form into patties and grill over hot coals for 3-4 minutes to a side.  Serve hot with your favorite gluten-free fixings like gluten-free potato chips, rice crisps, summer salad and an ice cold root beer.  Nothing says summer like a burger on the back porch!
